Framework Conditions of Bike Container

Tandem Mobility ensures that each bike container meets high-quality standards and offers a durable, secure, and visually appealing storage solution for commuters. Our containers undergo rigorous construction and modification processes, including steel reinforcement, corrosion protection, and installation of sliding gate systems for ease of access.

Steel Construction and Modification Specifications

At Tandem Mobility, we prioritize the robustness and reliability of our bicycle containers. Our steel construction and modification process adheres to stringent standards to guarantee the safety and longevity of the containers. Below are the specifications for the steel construction:

  1. Reinforcement: Steel construction reinforcement is carried out according to static requirements to withstand various environmental conditions and usage demands.

  2. Structural Interventions: Necessary structural interventions are undertaken to accommodate the longitudinal sliding door. This includes the implementation of all connections through screw connections and welding techniques.

  3. Corrosion Protection: To ensure long-lasting durability, corrosion protection is applied by double recoating in corrosivity category C2 (medium) as per DIN EN ISO 12944-2 standards.

  4. Original Container Modification: The original sea container doors are permanently closed to facilitate the installation of the sliding gate system.

  5. Connection Points Installation: Connection points for on-site horizontal bicycle parkers are installed on two levels, with each level reinforced with steel construction for added strength.

  6. Floor Opening: A floor opening of 300x300mm is incorporated to provide a transfer opening for power connection if required.

Container Lighting

Tandem Mobility provides integrated LED spotlights for containers, designed for easy wall mounting without the need for cables. The system is battery-powered, offering a flexible lighting solution with settings for 100% light, 50% light, or off. The batteries have a lifespan of approximately 400 days with 12 switching operations per day. The motion-activated lights, equipped with an infrared motion detector, ensure optimal illumination for both indoor and outdoor use.

Container Customization

Tandem Mobility provides extensive customization options for Container. The base offering includes the following options.

  1. Color changes

  2. logo integration.

For those requiring a more customized design, wooden panels and other materials can be used at an additional cost. An excellent alternative to traditional wood materials is HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) façade panels. HPL panels offer the aesthetic appeal of wood with greater durability and less maintenance. Available in various finishes, including realistic wood looks, HPL panels maintain their vibrant appearance without frequent upkeep and are resistant to fading, weathering, and wear.

Customization also includes a color palette for individual design, bicycle pictograms and graphics, instructions, and labeling with sliding door numbers. Renderings can be provided for visualization. These options ensure that the containers can meet aesthetic and functional requirements, particularly in areas near historic resources.

If opted for this offering, our solution will include

  • Color palette for individual color design

  • Bicycle pictograms and graphics

  • e.g. graphics for instructions

  • Labeling with sliding door numbers

Concrete and Landscaping Work

Tandem Mobility containers are designed to be placed on a level, stable surface without the need for anchoring. We assume that locations have paved or concrete foundations, assuming no additional work was needed.

installation is required inIf the installation is required on green areas, a strip foundation will be necessary. We recommend constructing a strip foundation measuring 2.50 m long, 0.80 m deep, and 0.50 m wide.
